Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026. This page provides the App Store–ready structure for Doctor Buddy's privacy disclosures. Replace placeholder language with counsel-approved final copy before launch.

1. Introduction

Doctor Buddy ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Services").

2. Information We Collect

We may collect:

  • Account information — name, email address, phone number, and authentication credentials.
  • Health-related information — symptoms, questions, medications, vitals, visit notes, and other details you choose to share for care or guidance.
  • Family / household information — profiles and relationships you add when using family sharing features.
  • Device and usage data — device type, OS version, app interactions, diagnostics, and approximate location (if permitted).
  • Payment information — processed by App Store / payment processors; we do not store full card numbers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, personalize, and improve the Services
  • Facilitate AI guidance and clinician video visits
  • Enable family sharing and record continuity you configure
  • Communicate about account, security, and product updates
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use

4. AI Features

AI responses are informational only and are not medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency care. Inputs you provide to AI features may be processed to generate responses and to improve safety and quality, subject to applicable law and our retention practices.

5. Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

  • Licensed clinicians and care partners providing visits you request
  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract
  • Family members you explicitly authorize within the app
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect safety

We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion subject to legal and clinical record requirements.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong device passcode and keep your credentials confidential.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) without a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians manage child profiles where family features allow.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also control notification and permission settings on your device.

10. International Transfers

If you access the Services from outside the country where our servers operate, your information may be transferred and processed in other jurisdictions with different data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version in the app and/or on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
